Dr. Samit Jain

Dr. Samit Jain is highly skilled in providing clinical care in in-patient, out-patient and intensive care settings. He has considerable experience in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures with a high level of competence, and has performed more than 7000 diagnostic oesophagogastroduodenoscopy and 3000 colonoscopies, besides having performed more than 2500 ERCPs and 2000 EUS independently. He is proficient in various therapeutic endoscopic procedures including variceal ligation, variceal injection, endoscopic dilatation with bougie and balloon, endoscopic treatment of ulcer bleeds, polypectomy, argon plasma photocoagulation and other common procedures. He is also familiar with oesophageal / anorectal manometry and pH-metry procedures, and has independently done sphincterotomies, oesophageal stents, and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomies.

Dr. Samit has gained valuable teaching experience at TNMC. He has presented seminars, lectures, and interesting clinical cases at the Bombay Society of GI meetings, and has a keen interest in weekly journal clubs, gastrointestinal pathology and gastrointestinal radiology meetings. Dr. Jain has also contributed with several papers connected to his area of expertise, which have been published in national and international journals, and in addition has also presented abstracts at various conferences and other forums. A regular award-winner and topper for his outstanding academic efforts, Dr. Jain is conversant in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and French.
